What makes SEPA school special?
•In San Isidro de El General, where our Spanish school is located, the people are very friendly and nice, and San Isidro is generally considered a much safer place than San José . The area is mostly Spanish speaking. Our school is located just 45 minutes from Dominical beach and is surrounded by places of ecological interest.
•We offer programs for people of all ages and levels of fluency in Spanish.
•Our Spanish classes are dynamic, teaching grammar while emphasizing conversation. We offer our students the possibility to practice even with a limited knowledge of Spanish. The students will take part in role-plays, conversation exercises and will use a homework book. Our approach is dynamic, creative, and effective and goes beyond basic textbook teachings. The Spanish classes are responsive to the needs of the students.
•To assure individualized attention the Spanish classes are small, ranging from one to 4 students. Also, our students have the option to learn Spanish while they enjoy field trips.
•Our students may participate in voluntary programs as well as learn Spanish. At this time we are working on various development projects with the Bribripa Kaneblo indigenous community. Volunteers are welcome to participate in this community project.
•All of our teachers are native Costa Ricans, graduates of Costa Rican universities. They are bilingual with many years of experience teaching Spanish.
•The students will receive a discount for a stay of two weeks or more and for groups of 5 or more.
•We offer long-term Spanish classes for those interested in taking more than one month.
•We also understand that each person`s needs are not the same and have incorporated a flexible curriculum that can be customized to satisfy both your schedule and desired level of learning.
•We offer Spanish classes for seniors.
•Also, we offer Spanish programs for students and professionals, in fields such as International Business and Political Science. Programs include basic Spanish and technical Spanish according to the interest of the students. We include lectures, videos, interviews and field exercises suited to each program.
•We offer an exciting intensive medical program. This program is designed for nurses, physicians and students who are interested in learning medical terminology in Spanish, as well as cultural aspects of Costa Rica. This program is individualized for students at any level.
•The students are placed according to their level and abilities with a written and oral test. Also, their teacher will be evaluating them and the Spanish classes will be responsive to the needs of the Students.
•Students who are researching in Environmental Protection can interview some professionals in areas such as; Agriculture, Environmental Protection, National Parks of Costa Rica and others. If you are interested, please ask the coordinator of the program for one to be set up.
•We additionally offer field studies that include ecological tours, agricultural tours, adventure tours and a Tropical Ecology and Sustainable Development program. We can help students arrange their own trips in Costa Rica for weekends and at the end of the cours.
•Learning Spanish is definitely an important step when making the transition to becoming a resident. SEPA understands that learning Spanish is just one of the many things you will be confronting in the residency process. We have helped many students over the years with our experience and knowledge, as well as our network of established professionals to help make their transition easier.
