We realize your time is very valuable! SEPA Spanish School rarely closes: only for Christmas, New Years, and Thursday and Friday of Easter week.
When can I start my Spanish classes?
When can you start classes? That is the beauty of our flexibility! You can start classes on any Monday of the year. Lessons go from 8:00 to 11:00 or 8:00 to 12:00, depending on whether you chose a 3-hour or 4-hour program.
What type of group programs do you offer?
We have many kinds of group programs at SEPA such as: summer programs, Spanish for university credits, survival Spanish for travelers.
What is your major methodology in the classroom?
Our classes are dynamic. Our Spanish lessons teach grammar while we emphasize conversation.
Can a couple stay with the same host family?
Some schools recommend that couples stay in different homes so that they speak less English and more Spanish while they live with a family to learn Spanish. On the other hand, we find that couples help each other along in the same homestay house.
It is possible to pay in several installments for the Spanish classes?
We want your stay to be FLEXIBLE and AFFORDABLE . If you need to pay by the week, then by all means we will work it out for you.
How soon can I enroll in Spanish classes at your school?
You are enrolled in our Spanish Language School in Costa Rica as soon as you turn in your enrollment form! We start our search for your ideal family and set all the gears in motion right away to make your ‘learn Spanish abroad’ program as wonderful as it can be.
How far is the airport from the Spanish language school in San Isidro?
It takes approximately 3 hours to get from San Jose to San Isidro de El General, (where the SEPA Spanish Language School and Environmental Center is located).

If you are driving from Quepos to San Isidro, the Pacific highway is the easiest way to go. Beautiful beaches and plentiful surfing opportunities dot your way as you head south towards Dominical.

You can travel to San Isidro de El General by public bus, rental car, or SEPA’s private transportation (for students of SEPA Spanish Language School and Environmental Protection Center only).
Are there requirements for immunizations in Costa Rica?
There are no vaccinations required to enter Costa Rica, although the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does recommend that travelers be vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B.
