At December 2009 I visited the SEPA-spanish-school for two weeks and had a wonderfull time! After San José, a city I didn’t like too much, I was very happy to be in San Isidro. Already the way to the school in the morning was very nice, sometimes I could see tucans in the trees. The school is placed very lovely on a hill with a beautifull view to the mountain scenery. On the first day we did a city-tour with our teacher. He showed us the best places and explained everything. In the city is everything you need: cafés, restaurants, markets, many shops... for me ist was perfect! As well for learning spanish, because the city is not a touristic place. The first week I had lessons in a small group in the garden. It was so great to learn outside! In the second week I was alone and had even one to one lessons. All the teacher were very kind. The lessons consisted mainly of questions and answers and were very enjoyable. A good way to get to know the other students and learn to speak. And there was always a coffee break, where you could talk to the other students and teachers. Very nice as well was the welcome-lunch and the excursions, which I did with the school. We were hiking in a reserve, visiting hot springs and very beautifull beaches for swimming. Nidia told us all usefull informations. All the time I had the feeling, she is really caring about her students. Nidia helped me with everything. For example once I had to make a bank transfer for a hiking trip in the Corcovado-park. She went with me to the bank and I could organize my trip in the school by using the computer and fax. In Costa Rica it’s not always easy to get enough money from the ATM, because some ATMs having low limits, so you can get only a very small amount of money. Or the ATM is running out of money. I can recommend the scotiabank. My familiy was only 5-10 minutes away from the school. From the terrace you had a nice view over the city. They welcomed me very heartily. On the weekend they invited me to join them to visit other family places. So I get to know the whole family and the culture and life in Costa Rica. We were together shopping on the market, they showed me there gardens and I could try the typical fruits and food. You heard all the time spanish, this motivated me very much to learn it. All you will not experience, if you stay in a hotel. In two weeks I learned a lot and I had stayed preferably much longer, but I wanted also to travel a bit in Costa Rica. It was such a nice place, perfect weather with a lot of sun and many very kind people! Not easy to say Good Bye! I can recommend this school to everybody who wants to learn lots of spanish with a lot of fun! Pura vida!
