We promote voluntary programs in farms in the area surrounding San Isidro
(where SEPA is located). In this case our students help farmers with their
daily activities such as milking cows, producing organic fertilizers,
harvesting coffee, vegetables, fruits, tobacco, and working at tree
nurseries. Students enjoy the experience of living with a family in the countryside while learning about agricultural processes.
Students may also choose to work in National Parks to help protect the rain forest of Costa Rica. Students help visitors, keep the shelters clean, and
patrol the paths of the parks to prevent poaching of animals or plants.
This voluntary work takes place during the last week of the
student's stay. You cannot do both at the same time since as places in which you would work are far from town.
Also, you can do voluntary office work during the afternoon and take Spanish classes during the morning. Besides, You can teach younger children in primary and secondary schools.Topics many include anything that you have knowledge and interest in teaching.
