Volunteer work in private farms, National Parks and other institutions.
We promote volunteer work in farms in the area surrounding San Isidro (where our Spanish language school is located). In this case our students help farmers with their daily activities such as milking cows, producing organic fertilizers, harvesting coffee, vegetables, fruits, tobacco, and working at tree nurseries. Students enjoy the experience of living with a family in the countryside while learning about agricultural processes.
Students may also choose to work in National Parks to help protect the rain forests of Costa Rica . Students help visitors, keep the shelters clean and patrol the paths of the parks to prevent poaching of animals or plants.
This voluntary work takes place during the last week of the student's stay. You cannot do both at the same time since the places in which you would work are far from town.
Voluntary programs in farms or National Parks cost $125 per week. This price includes meals and lodging.

The Bribripa Kaneblo Association is located in southern Costa Rica in the indigenous territory of Salitre. This organization was formed by Bribris, indigenous people who maintain and practice Bribri language, customs, and traditions.
The most numerous indigenous people in Costa Rica, Bribris live in the International Friendship Park (PILA), which has the largest concentration of forested area in the country.
They intend to strengthen their cultural values, reviving ancestral ways of living in harmony with nature, practices which they have identified across the centuries and which now they wish to share with others.
