The Spanish language school (SEPA) was founded in 1998. The directors are Wilbure James and Nidia Gamboa from Costa Rica. They are graduates of the International Relations degree program of the National University of Costa Rica. Nidia has a specialization in International Business and Wilbure has a specialization in Diplomacy.
Each has 15 years experience in the coordination of Spanish language programs and teaching. Nidia and Wilbure frequently collaborate with university groups from North America to study protected areas in Costa Rica.
Also, Nidia and Wilbure have been working in ecological tourist projects on the Osa Peninsula, near
Corcovado
National Park . They developed and operate a community project for Environmental Protection in Sábalo de Sierpe and they made a conscious decision to devote time and energy to monitor and protect their environment. Eight years ago they began work to protect Scarlet Macaws, one of the endangered bird species in Costa Rica.
Nidia volunteers as an inspector of flora and fauna (CONACOVIRENA) for the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica. Also, Nidia has worked for the International Affairs Ministry, and the Embassy of Israel.
All of our teachers are graduates of Costa Rican universities. They are bilingual with many years of experience teaching Spanish.
SEPA operates "Study Abroad Programs" in agreement with two North American universities, one in Canada and one in the United states:
--THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK AT BINGHAMTON( 28 Dec.2001)
